Corrections Policy
How reported errors are reviewed and the public record is corrected when evidence changes.
Reviewed August 14, 2026
Accuracy is an ongoing process because online promotions can change after publication. Promocodes accepts correction reports from shoppers, merchants, affiliate networks and internal review processes and evaluates them against the best available evidence.
A correction is intended to improve the public record, not to erase legitimate history or create a more favorable marketing claim.
01
What can be corrected
Offer terms
Discount, minimum spend, eligibility, country scope, dates or usage conditions.
Coupon details
Code text, code-required status or whether a listing should be treated as a code-free deal.
Destinations
Broken, unsafe, outdated or incorrectly mapped merchant links.
Store information
Name, official domain, country availability or merchant identity when supported by evidence.
Editorial copy
Shopper-facing summaries that overstate, omit or misdescribe supported source facts.
Status
Offers that should be held, expired, archived or returned for review.
02
How reports are reviewed
A useful report is compared with source records, merchant pages, timestamps, provider identifiers, prior review evidence and other relevant information. A merchant request may be authoritative for some facts, while community feedback may be useful for detecting regional or account-specific behavior.
No single report automatically changes every field. The reviewer should update only what the evidence supports.
03
Material and minor changes
Small wording, spelling or formatting corrections may be made without changing the underlying offer identity. Material changes—such as a different code, merchant, destination, country, minimum spend or product scope—may require a new variant or renewed verification rather than silently rewriting the existing record.
This helps preserve accurate matching between the public page and the evidence behind it.
04
What we do not promise
We do not guarantee that every reported issue will be changed, because a report may conflict with stronger evidence or describe a condition that applies only to one shopper. We also do not guarantee a fixed review time.
If evidence is incomplete, the responsible outcome may be to mark the limitation, hold the offer or leave an unknown value unknown.
05
Merchant and network corrections
Authorized merchants and affiliate networks are encouraged to provide stable identifiers, official destinations and documented terms. Requests to remove truthful shopper feedback or to create unsupported promotional language are not treated as factual corrections.
Commercial relationships do not override the correction standard.
06
How to report an error
Use Report an Issue and include the exact page, what is inaccurate and the evidence supporting the proposed change. For broader business or feed corrections, use Contact Us.
Corrections should make the record more accurate and traceable, not merely more promotional.
